A Contemplative Financial Education workshop for Naropa University undergraduate and graduate students that fosters confidence in financial life.
The next Contemplative Financial Education workshop will be held at Boulder Public Library Sunday, March 10th (1:00 - 5:00 PM)
Formerly taught as a pilot-study for Seanβs Master's thesis, an M.A. in Contemplative Education from Naropa University. Sean is the teacher and the Founder of Kaimana Institute. The pedagogy and material are data-driven via consistent financial education research and participant feedback. We will focus on how to stay on a chosen savings plan and our general relationship to financial life.
Along with much data, current financial education has not worked, and financial literacy plays a large role in inequality. For example, a 2017 report from the Federal Reserve stated, "Altogether, one-third of adults are either unable to pay their bills or are one modest financial setback away from financial hardship, slightly less than in 2016 (35 percent)." https://www.federalreserve.gov/publications/files/2017-report-economic-well-being-us-households-201805.pdf
