Contemplative Financial Education - Workshop (June)

The aim is to empower people to live practically—to achieve their goals—but to also be emotionally intelligent with money matters.

About this Event

I have taken two major points from this practice thus far. The first has been expanding my perception of what "wealth management" and "saving" is. I feel like I have a growing perspective that building ones financial standing cant be viewed solely through a monetary lens - pleased client

Formerly taught as a pilot-study for Sean’s Master's thesis, an M.A. in Contemplative Education from Naropa University (Sean is the teacher and the Founder of Kaimana Institute). The pedagogy and material are data-driven via consistent financial education research and participant feedback. We will focus on how to stay on a chosen savings plan and our general relationship to financial life.

For more information about the course, please read thisIntroduction to the Workshop.

You can also meet Sean here.

See Kaimana Institute website here.

After you submit your ticket Kaimana Institute will send a pre-workshop questionnaire. This form will be used to gauge how best to meet the class material with your financial life.

Contemplative Financial Education - Workshop (March)

The next Contemplative Financial Education workshop will be held at Boulder Public Library Sunday, March 10th (1:00 - 5:00 PM)

Formerly taught as a pilot-study for Sean’s Master's thesis, an M.A. in Contemplative Education from Naropa University. Sean is the teacher and the Founder of Kaimana Institute. The pedagogy and material are data-driven via consistent financial education research and participant feedback. We will focus on how to stay on a chosen savings plan and our general relationship to financial life.

Along with much data, current financial education has not worked, and financial literacy plays a large role in inequality. For example, a 2017 report from the Federal Reserve stated, "Altogether, one-third of adults are either unable to pay their bills or are one modest financial setback away from financial hardship, slightly less than in 2016 (35 percent)." https://www.federalreserve.gov/publications/files/2017-report-economic-well-being-us-households-201805.pdf

Boulderfoodrescue.org and Denverfoodrescue.org are holding an event called Food Rescue Ride at the Cherry Creek State Park on August 13th. Exertion decided to jump in and give these awesome organizations some free publicity and extra cyclists. Please join Exertions call and ride for these organizations charitable causes!
